How to properly install furniture rails. Installing guides for drawers: options and instructions. Step-by-step instructions for mounting roller guides

Cabinet or modular furniture is often equipped with drawers that are designed to store various small items. They can have different sizes, but their main feature is that they can be easily pulled out and pushed back if necessary. For this, furniture guides are used, which can be presented in several forms. They differ in the way of installation and the principle of operation. Their main task is to ensure the smoothness and noiselessness of the use of drawers. At the same time, they must be reliable in order to guarantee a long service life and ease of use of furniture.

When choosing furniture guides, you need to pay attention to various factors. The most important parameter is the type of construction, according to which they can be roller or ball, as well as equipped with a closer and differ in reverse action. Each option has both advantages and disadvantages, so to make the right choice, you should study the characteristics of each type.

Roller

The choice of these furniture guides is considered the most popular. They appeared on the market more than 15 years ago, and quickly became in demand among furniture manufacturers and ordinary users.

Roller guides for drawers have many advantages:

  • Do not require the use of lubricating pastes and other compounds;
  • Provide smooth movement of boxes;
  • They are easy to mount, as there is no need to drill numerous holes for fasteners.

Such furniture guides are installed on both sides of the recess allocated for the box. Small deviations in the dimensions of the furniture and drawer are allowed. Even if small errors were initially made in the installation, you can adjust the design. The length of roller guides can vary from 200mm to 600mm.

Ball

Ball guides are considered quite popular due to their smooth running and the ability to withstand significant loads. In addition, they are in an affordable price range. Such telescopic rails can be equipped with or without closers. They consist of two elements, with one attached to the drawer, and the other attached to the side wall of the furniture. To separate them, you need to press a special latch.

There are many models of ball furniture rails that differ in height, which can vary from 17 to 45 mm. Additionally, they differ in the degree of extension. The most popular are designs whose height reaches 45 mm. They can withstand a load of up to 36 kg, so even large and heavy items can be stored in the boxes.

With closer

Guides for drawers with a closer are considered interesting. They are similar in design to the previous version, the only difference is the equipment of these elements with closers and dampers. Due to the former, it is guaranteed that the drawer is picked up in a certain position, after which it closes smoothly on its own, without any effort on the part of the person.

The damper ensures that the drawer closes smoothly and silently. In addition, it acts as a shock absorber, so even if a lot of force is applied to close the drawer, strong shock and noise are prevented.

Designs with a closer are considered reliable and comfortable to use. They withstand significant loads, therefore they are popular among furniture manufacturers.

Full extension

Full extension guides are in demand modern designs. They are based on a special ball bearing. Due to such a system, full and smooth opening of any drawer is ensured. To use such a system of extension will have to make some effort.

Fully extending drawer slides are available on the market in numerous models, the choice depends on the intended load. The installation of such fittings should be carried out with extreme caution, since careless handling causes a violation of the integrity of various parts.

Concealed mounting

Installation of guides of this type is considered the most difficult and lengthy. But this fitting is becoming more and more in demand, as it is convenient to use. The design is equipped with a closer and a reverse action system.

The indisputable advantage of these furniture elements is that they are installed under the bottom of each drawer, so there is a feeling that the object is floating in the air. Other advantages include good reliability of products, as well as the movement of the box is smooth and there are no extraneous unpleasant sounds. The drawer closes softly and quietly.

Initially, such fittings were installed only on solid wood products, but today they are equipped with structures made of chipboard and MDF. Depending on the model, these guides can withstand a load of up to 50 kg.

Reverse action

Such guides are similar in principle to fittings equipped with closers. The only difference is that the drawer opens thanks to a slight hand pressure on its front.

A significant advantage of this design is that it is not equipped with any handles or recesses for control. It has an attractive appearance, and also allows you to build a box in any part of the structure. It is often used in the production of furniture in modern styles, where it is important that the glossy surface is not disturbed by any fittings.

It is better not to use reverse action guides for children's furniture. They provide a sharp extension of the drawer and can injure the child. In addition, it will take significant effort to push such a box.

Tandemboxes and metaboxes

Such fittings appeared on the market relatively recently, but quickly became in demand. Design features include:

  • The guide is located directly inside the metal side wall;
  • Equipped with a closer;
  • Dampers are definitely used.

An important advantage of such fittings is the ability to withstand really significant loads. This is especially true in relation to products in which the guides are installed in a hidden way.

Another advantage of such elements is their interesting design, they fit well into furniture made in various styles and sizes. Due to the excellent performance characteristics, the ease of use of the products and their long service life are ensured. In order for the installation to be carried out correctly, it is necessary to use special devices for marking. They help to accurately determine the location of the guides and avoid distortions.

Separately, I would like to note the Bloom guides. They combine many advantages inherent in various types of furniture fittings. Due to the complexity of the design and ease of use, the cost of such products is considered quite high. Therefore, tandemboxes are usually used in luxury interior items made of natural wood or other similar expensive materials.

How to choose?

When choosing furniture guides, you need to pay attention to various factors. It is due to them that it is possible to smoothly and silently open and close various drawers that can be installed in cabinets, chests of drawers, dressing tables, hallways and other types of cabinet furniture.

When choosing products, various factors and recommendations are taken into account:

  • The dimensions of the guides must ideally match the furniture where the box will be installed, as well as this element itself, otherwise the installation will be complicated;
  • In the store, before buying, you should make sure that the metal has the optimal thickness, and that all rollers or balls are working properly;
  • Externally, there should not be any scratches, visible defects or violations of the integrity of the structure;
  • A specific type of guide is selected, as some users prefer roller products, while others prefer ball models;
  • If guides are chosen to replace obsolete or broken elements, then similar models are usually purchased;
  • Immediately after purchase, you need to make sure that the kit includes all the necessary parts for installation;
  • If modern tandemboxes are chosen, then you should make sure that you can handle the installation yourself. Such products are considered quite specific, so for installation it is often necessary to resort to the help of specialists;
  • The minimum thickness of the metal should be 1 mm, but it is better to choose designs where this figure will not be less than 1.2 mm. This will allow you to easily cope with high loads and ensure long-term operation.

Thus, furniture rails are important parts of various interior items. This is a fitting that provides ease of use of drawers. Guides are presented in several forms, each of which works according to a specific principle. When choosing a specific design, various factors are taken into account, allowing you to purchase really high-quality elements.

Many novice craftsmen who decide to assemble furniture with their own hands are frightened by the independent installation of drawers. In fact, there is nothing complicated about this. And you don’t need to pre-compile some kind of additive maps and do complex mathematical calculations. In my experience in manufacturing, I have only known one assembler who meticulously calculated everything down to the millimeter before installing drawer slides. All the rest were done "by eye", observing only the elementary rules of geometry. And it "worked" just as well.

What you need to know before you start installing drawers

The principle of fastening the skids to the sidewalls of the pedestal is the same for almost all sliding systems. As a rule, 2 mm retreat from the front edge and then screwed along the extreme mounting holes and several central ones, depending on the size of the guides themselves.

Only the calculation of the height at which the skids are attached differs.

There are three main types of drawer slides, with different slide positions:

  1. Along the bottom edge (bottom). The simplest and most budgetary roller guides are installed strictly under the bottom of the box itself, overlapping on the fiberboard. As well as the most expensive options for equipping drawers - tandemboxes. They are also installed on the lower level of the drawer box.
  2. Centered on the side of the box. Telescopic ball bearings give greater freedom during installation - they can be mounted on any level of the sidewall of the drawer box. But still it is better to stay in the center. As practice shows, installation and adjustment is simplified at times.
  3. Top mount. In metaboxes (metalboxes), the roller guide rails are located on the upper level.

In each case, the box will “sit down” in completely different ways. Consider the example of a drawing of a conventional chest of drawers with three drawers. To facilitate the task, we assume that the boxes begin to be installed from the bottom of the sidewall of the cabinet itself, without deduction on the basement box and the bottom. This is possible in the next version.

  • The height of the sidewalls of the cabinet is 668 mm (with the height of the chest of drawers without legs 700 mm).
  • The height of the drawers is 150 mm with the height of the facades 221 mm.

How to install roller guides

Capturing the bottom with a part of the skids that are attached to the box is carried out at a height of 8-10 mm, depending on the thickness of the bottom (MDF).

Let's take the indent from the bottom to the lower edge of the facade equal to 20 mm (usually it ranges from 10-30 mm).

The scheme for installing roller guides will look like this.

In this case, there will be no trouble if the values \u200b\u200bare rounded. Take not the level of heights 32/255/478, but round for convenience to 40/260/280. The main thing is to fix the roller guides equally on both sides.

How to install ball guides

With a similar tolerance under the bottom of 20 mm, the installation diagram of the ball guides will look like this.

The difference is that it is customary to install ball guides in the center of the sidewall. Since they come in different widths, it's easier not to move them up or down.

Also, the values 99/322/545 can be rounded up and made, say, 100/330/550.

How to install metaboxes on a drawer

A distinctive feature of a drawer with metal sides is its fastening along the upper edge. The main thing here is to correctly choose the height of the metaboxes relative to the vertical of the facade. It can be 54 mm (optimal for installation in a narrow niche under the built-in oven in the kitchen), 86, 118 or 150 mm. If a box is required deeper, it can be “built up” using one or two rows of special rails.

In our case, it is optimal to take a 150 mm metabox, the installation diagram will look like this.

As in the previous versions, rounding is acceptable for convenience: instead of 134/357/580, it is quite possible to take 130/360/580.

How to install drawer fronts

Drawer fronts are always installed after the "test" and alignment of the inner box.

First you need to make sure that the box moves freely and smoothly, does not warp during movement and does not jam.

Only then, with the help of special linings (fiberboard scraps, a wooden or plastic ruler will fit), the even position of the facades is pretended to be.

Then, with the help of double-sided adhesive tape, the facade is fixed and attracted from the inside to 4x30 self-tapping screws. Through fastening of the handle also "holds" the facade. But it is worth drilling under the handle only after the facade is securely fixed.

How to avoid installation errors

If the guide rails themselves are screwed at the same level, strictly opposite each other and the drawer does not warp in any way during the extension process, then everything will “work” well.

This is the main rule in the installation of any box - to maintain alignment.

The second rule is the need to correlate the height of the sidewalls of the box itself with the height of the facades. Before you start their "distribution" in height. I recommend immediately making marks with a pencil on the end of the case, noting the position of the facades in order to have a visual representation.

The main pitfall is the irrational distribution of guides in terms of the usable volume of the box itself.

For example, in the photo - the drawers in the pencil case function absolutely normally.

But due to the fact that the top drawer is “pulled up” too high, its capacity is greatly reduced. It would seem, but the middle box is more spacious. But no. The lower edge of the facade of the upper drawer "does not allow" loading the middle drawer along the entire height of the formed niche.

In fact, this moment is not critical. And if you do not highlight it, then the owner himself will not notice. But the one who did it will definitely remember that it would be better in a different way.

Step-by-step instructions for installing a drawer

Before you install the drawer rails, you must correctly determine the position of the fasteners. Calculations are the first step in the installation.

Step 1 - determining the position of the drawers inside the cabinet

The greater the difference between the height of the facade and the height of the sides of the drawer, the greater the gap should be. This is done for reasons of fastening stability: after all, the facade is attached to the sides of the box itself and the attachment points should be close to the center.

The remaining distance is evenly distributed among the remaining boxes. Moreover, it is customary to leave the same amount at the bottom of the box box as it retreated on the bottom.

Such calculations are not difficult. Distances can be calculated using a calculator or drawn to scale. Many assemblers estimate immediately on the body, measuring with a tape measure from point to point.

When the position of the boxes is determined, the points of attachment of the skids are outlined. Depending on the drawer system, this may be the center, bottom or top edge of the drawer side.

After the calculations proceed to the installation of the drawer guides. This will be the second step in the installation.

Step 2 - fastening the drawer rails inside the cabinet

Strictly opposite each other, the outer part of the runners is attached to the sidewalls of the cabinet, and the inner part to the drawers themselves (with the exception of metaboxes, in which the internal guides are already built into the assembled drawers).

Then they try to push the boxes of drawers inside the cabinet, adjust so as to achieve a smooth and uniform movement.

Step 3 - adjusting the smooth running of the drawer guides inside the cabinet

Then proceed to the installation of facades. But first they measure out uniform gaps between them using the material at hand - various linings of the desired thickness.

Step 4 - setting uniform gaps on the facades
Step 5 - pre-fixing the facades on double-sided tape

And they are attracted from the inside to the screws.

Ball guides are actively used by furniture makers for pulling out drawers. Ball guides are usually based on solid iron, there are many modifications and there are also many manufacturers.

Ball guides so named because the movement of the component guides occurs due to metal balls, as in bearings. Strong steel balls move inside the profile, ensuring stable easy sliding of drawers of any material and any size, even under high loads.

The design of ball guides was invented by our Russian engineer Kulkov, so you can also find such a name as Kulkov guides. But on a commercial basis, the sale of such guides was put abroad.

Sliding baskets are installed on ball guides in sliding wardrobes, baskets for detergents. The pages of the site describe an interesting use of guides for extending original shoe racks in a closet.

In principle, tandem guides from BLUM can also be attributed to ball guides, which almost one-to-one copied many other hardware manufacturers.

In the article, we will consider ball guides from GTV, a Polish brand, but recently they have also been produced in China, it seems that the quality has not suffered much from this. GTV guides they are sold everywhere in the European part of Russia, their price is acceptable, closer to the East they most likely sell Chinese counterparts.

Another name for ball guides that you may come across is telescopic rails.

Ball guides GTV

Ball guides 17 mm high for drawers

Guides with a height of 17 mm, length from 182 mm to 438 mm, hold a load of up to 8-10 kg. Partial extension guides. The manufacturer recommends milling a groove 10 mm deep and 17 mm high on the side of the drawer. An excellent solution for use in chests of drawers. During installation, the guide assembly is attached to the side wall of the product, and then with screws to the side of the drawer.

Ball guides 27 mm high for drawers

Guides height 27 mm, length from 250 mm to 500 mm in 50 mm increments, withstand a load of 15 kg. Unlike the first option, they are disassembled, milling a groove on the side wall of the box is not required. To calculate the dimensions of the box in width, it is necessary to recline 22 mm from the width of the inner opening of the product.

Ball guides 35 mm high for drawers

Guides with a height of 35, lengths from 250 mm to 500 mm, can withstand a load of more than 20 kg, there are options for full extension. In general, it resembles a guide with a height of 27 mm.

Ball guides 45 mm high for drawers

Ball guides 45 mm high is the most common and actively used type of ball guides. There are different modifications from 250 to 700 mm long. Withstand loads already serious up to 36-38 kg.

The guides must be separated before installation, for this it is necessary to raise or lower the black lever.

This separation system on most ball guides, including for baskets installed in cabinets in the kitchen.

The photo below shows a pull-out basket for dishes with a fastening to the bottom, turned upside down. We press the black lever and separate the basket from the guides, then there will be no problems with installing the basket.

To calculate the dimensions of the drawer in width, it is necessary to subtract 26 mm from the internal width of the case, as for roller guides.

They produce ball guides with a height of 45 mm of full and partial extension, with or without a closer. In addition, there is a Push to open ball guide system, i.e. push to open, no handle is required to open the drawer. Reminiscent of a system called TIP ON for Tandem Blum guides.

And the manufacturer Hettich has extra-full extension ball guides.

Installation of ball guides

Consider the most common method for calculating ball guides, the program is not required.

We take our basic pedestal 720 mm high without legs and 600 mm wide with two facades 356 m high, drawers 150 mm high. Drawers with a facade height of 356 mm can be made both 200 and 250 mm high, it all depends on your or the customer's desire.

Ball guides usually fastened along the central axis of the side wall of the box, although some prefer to fasten closer to the bottom edge of the side of the box.

The calculation will be carried out for the option of mounting the guide along the axis of the side wall of the box. We draw a simple drawing, you can freehand, as in the figure. Before marking, decide what the gaps between the facades will be, in our version, the gap between the facades will be 4 mm, and 2 mm at the top and bottom.

Drilling axis of the first ball guide= 2+34+75 = 111 mm, where:

  • 2 - this is a gap of 2 mm from below (the facade is superimposed on a horizontal with a thickness of 16 mm by 14 mm, 2 mm remains)
  • 75 is the middle of the side wall of the box, the total height of the box is 150 mm. If the bottom of the box made of fiberboard is laid on, then the height, taking into account fiberboard, will be 153 mm. But, for calculations, we still take 150 mm.

Drilling axis of the second ball guide= 2+356+4+34+75 = 471 mm, where:

  • 2 - this is a gap of 2 mm from the bottom 356 - the height of the lower facade
  • 4 - gap between facades
  • 34 - distance from the lower edge of the facade to the lower edge of the drawer

Horizontal drilling axis of drawer front wall= 75 mm, we retreat 50 mm from the right and left edges of the front wall and get the coordinates of drilling the front wall.

Point along the X axis for self-tapping screws on the facade= 34+75=109 mm, where:

  • 34 - distance from the lower edge of the facade to the lower edge of the drawer
  • 75 is the middle of the side wall of the box.

Point along the Y-axis, for self-tapping cutouts for the right and left front edges= 50+16+13+14 = 93 mm, where:

  • 50 - indents along the X axis from the edges when drilling the front wall of the box
  • 16 - thickness of the side wall of the box
  • 13 - clearance for installing a ball guide
  • 14 - overlay of the facade on the side wall of the housing (that is, a gap of 2 mm remains between the edge of the side wall and the edge of the facade with a thickness of the side wall of the housing of 16 mm).

Usually they don’t make any calculations, but simply drill four holes in the front wall of the box, measure the necessary indents, put the box on the facade and fasten the first two screws. They do a fitting, if normal, then twist the remaining two self-tapping screws. No, they unscrew it, shift it to the required distance and check again.

After the calculation, we proceed to the markup. We mark up with the help of a tape measure, an iron ruler of a hard pencil. The points of fastening of the guides with the help of self-tapping screws are punched with a core or we make notches with an awl.

Ball guides

Equipping drawers with ball (telescopic) guides provides significant advantages in their operation. They provide smooth and silent sliding of drawers in kitchen cabinets, chests of drawers, wardrobes and other furniture.

The components of the guides move easily thanks to the strong metal balls inside the profile, which allows, if necessary, to extend the loaded drawers to their full length. Some models extend by 90 cm and can withstand loads up to 45 kg.

In addition to these advantages, one can note their affordable cost, wear resistance and, importantly, ball guides for drawers are not difficult to install on their own.

In order for the mechanism to work flawlessly, it is necessary to correctly mark the attachment points of the components. There should be gaps between the wall of the box and the side of the cabinet on both sides, in which the guides will be placed. Usually it is 13 cm on each side.

Drawer Parts Calculation Scheme

The length of the guides is from 25 to 90 cm in increments of 5 cm, they should be approximately 6-10 cm shorter than the box itself. Therefore, the mechanism is mounted in the middle of the side wall of the box, leaving small gaps in front and behind.

Also, there must be at least 10 mm of free space between the back walls of the drawer and the cabinet. The easiest way to make markings and fasten the guides in the process of assembling furniture is much more convenient and faster.

Markup and installation

First of all, draw lines of attachment. It is recommended to mount the guides on the box in the center, but mounting is also allowed in its lower part. A similar line is marked on the inner side of the cabinet. The smoothness of the movement and the duration of the operation of the mechanism will depend on the accuracy of the measurements.

Before installation, the guides are divided into halves: pressing the black "antennae", pull out the inside of the device. The halves are attached to the marked lines, then the box is brought into place, they try to close it and push it out.

If everything was done correctly, the latch will work and a slight click will be heard. This is a signal for the final fixing of the guides. Otherwise, you will have to slightly loosen the fasteners and still adjust the mechanism.

There are oblong holes on both parts of the structure: the vertical ones are designed to move the bar up and down, and the horizontal ones are for horizontal adjustment. By carefully adjusting the mechanism, you can finally fix the elements with self-tapping screws or screws.

Telescopic rails are available in left and right versions and cannot be interchanged.

The guides can provide partial or full extension of the drawers, be with or without closers, be equipped with the Push to open system when the drawer does not have a handle, and it is enough to press it to open it. Also, products can be equipped with a reliable latch that holds the boxes in the closed position.

Video: Replacing telescopic rails

If earlier drawers in tables and cabinets slid along wooden planks, now they have been replaced by more convenient and practical metal guides, which are equipped with roller and ball mechanisms.

Another name for this device is telescopic guides. They are easy to install, practical and durable. In this article, we will try to figure out how to install drawer guides, and what nuances you should pay attention to when installing them.

Varieties of ball guides

Despite the simplicity of design, ball guides can have a different shape and a unique set of functions. Theoretically, they can be divided according to the following characteristics:

  • the possibility of dismantling into collapsible and non-collapsible;
  • the number of so-called steps (there are two-meter and multi-section);
  • the type of the structure itself is single-level and multi-level.

Typically, the cost of non-separable mechanisms is slightly lower than their fragmented counterparts. And the thing is that it is when installing the latter that it is necessary to use special methods for the production of rails and methods for attaching balls to them. It is with the help of these balls that the device is freely assembled and disassembled without the risk of losing small parts.

The price issue may also differ depending on the number of stages provided, and on the number of levels that are involved in the system. That is, the more complex the design of the mechanism itself, the higher the price.

Advantages of ball guides

Unlike other mechanisms for pulling out boxes, this type is endowed with many clear advantages. Among them are:

  • affordable cost;
  • smooth running, especially unlike the usual old wooden rails;
  • high strength and build quality;
  • duration of operation, wear resistance;
  • ease of installation.

Full extension ball guides are used in various furniture: chests of drawers, cabinets, kitchen furniture, tables and other various retractable structures.

Role in furniture production

And although the useful properties of telescopic devices have been evaluated in various fields of activity, basically such mechanisms are used in the manufacturing process of various furniture.

One example of such an application is wardrobes using folding hanger rods, various shoe cabinets and chests of drawers, cabinets with drawers. That is, any furniture that allows you to save space or increase the comfort of using furniture.

It is worth noting that ball guides have a positive effect not only on convenience, but also on the efficiency of using furniture. After all, getting and putting away things is much easier and more comfortable, besides, free access makes it possible to occupy useful space in the closet.

Estimated box dimensions

In order to correctly install the full extension ball bearings, some steps are required. Some requirements should be observed, especially in the case of creating furniture yourself.

Primary requirements:

  1. In retractable structures, excluding the facade, the width should be 26 mm less than the width of the attachment point. Thus, there must be a gap of 13 mm on each side in order to install the guides.
  2. The length of the drawer and the length of the drawer itself must match exactly. On average, it is from 25 to 80 cm. Intermediate sizes are usually made in increments of 5 cm. At the same time, this design usually does not reach the back wall of the cabinet by about one centimeter.
  3. Unlike previous measurements, nothing affects the height of retractable containers, except for the desire of the owners. Usually it is from 80 to 250 mm. However, this indicator can significantly differ upwards.

Installing guides

In order to mount these devices, it is necessary to get their inner part, for which the black antennae should be pressed. Both halves of the rails are attached to the outer side of the drawer and to the inner surface of the cabinet itself, chest of drawers or other furniture.

Action algorithm:

  1. First of all, you should decide on the immediate place of attachment. To do this, on the outside of the side of the drawer, it is necessary to make markings for the fastening line. It can be done in the center, or it can be done on the bottom. One half of the ball structure must be attached to this marking line with screws.
  2. On the inside of the cabinet itself, it is necessary to carry out a similar marking in the form of a line. The location of this markup directly depends on the height of the box. The remaining halves of the guides must be screwed into place. After that, the drawer can be placed in place, check the free movement of the mechanism during extension and closing.

It is worth noting that on both halves of this mechanism there are quite a few different holes. And each of them has its own purpose. So, oblong horizontal holes are necessary in order to move and adjust the guides horizontally. And oblong vertical holes - for adjusting and moving the bar up and down.

After the final adjustment is made, screws or self-tapping screws must be screwed into special round holes in order to securely fasten the main elements of the ball guides.

Usually the whole process in practice looks like this:

  1. The bottom rails should be installed at a distance of about 30 mm from the bottom of the cabinet.
  2. Depending on the dimensions of the drawer fronts, the location of the remaining parts will also differ. During operation, they should not touch and rub against each other. Therefore, during installation, it is necessary to take this into account by making the distance between the guides that are installed on the cabinet wall 2-3 mm larger than the height of the facade of the retractable structure itself.
  3. The details of the guides must be screwed strictly along the intended marking line.
  4. After the parts are temporarily fixed, through the oblong holes, you need to try to insert the drawer into place. With the correct execution of the previous points, you can hear a slight click, which comes from the release of the latch. This means that the guides can be permanently fastened through round holes. If you do not hear a click, then you need to make adjustments by slightly moving all the parts up and down, as well as back and forth. Loosen the fixing screws a little before making adjustments.

DB4461 is a modern model of ball runners for drawers, which has a soft closing mechanism with a soft close. This mechanism makes it possible to fully extend the drawer, gaining access to all its contents. In this case, soft closing is carried out using an oil closer.

On average, this mechanism can withstand at least 50 thousand closings and openings. The device is designed for weight up to 25 kg, while it is absolutely silent in operation. There are other models of similar devices, which makes it possible to fully select the mechanism depending on the needs.

It should be noted that many people often confuse ball drawer slides with their roller counterparts. Therefore, when choosing a mechanism, you should pay attention to many factors. So, roller products are mainly painted white. In this case, the drawer is pulled out using plastic wheels. Experts say that these devices are less comfortable and wear-resistant, so you should not install them. During operation, you can often hear a creak, in addition, plastic wheels often collapse over time, and also fly out of the guides themselves.

If the bottom of the box is inserted into special grooves, then it is better to fix it with thin self-tapping screws with edges. Otherwise, the contents may begin to fall out along with the bottom. In the case of heavily loaded drawers, a double set of rails can be used.

The installation of this mechanism, experts recommend to carry out directly before the assembly of furniture. The fact is that in this case it is much more convenient and easier to carry out all the work, and it will take much less time. In this case, after assembly, it will only be enough to make all the required adjustments.

When installing, also pay attention to the fact that the height of the drawer should be approximately 4-5 cm less than the height of the front itself.

In fact, the installation of drawer mechanisms does not cause any problems. To do this, you just need to purchase high-quality guides, and mount them correctly. At the same time, it is important to observe certain norms, to correctly measure and adjust. In this case, the mechanism will last for a long time, and during operation there will be no incidents.
