Today, there are many options for heating equipment for residential premises. Economical gas boilers for heating a private house have gained great popularity. Thanks to a large selection of such devices, each buyer can find a model for himself in accordance with personal preferences and a certain budget. Installing such equipment will save on fuel costs, because natural gas is relatively cheap. Additionally, a gas boiler does not require frequent maintenance, like an oil or wood-burning one.

What is a gas boiler

This is a device used to generate thermal energy, for the purpose of heating rooms for various purposes and heating water for household and other purposes by means of gas combustion. Such boilers are widely used for domestic purposes, for example, for heating a private house. You can order a heating boiler for a private house in a specialized online store with mail delivery to Moscow, St. Petersburg or another city in the country. Remember that gas is a flammable and explosive fuel, so it is important to follow safety precautions.

The principle of operation of a gas boiler is that when fuel is supplied to the device, a piezoelectric ignition is switched on. From the spark, the igniter is subsequently ignited. Fuel supply to the burner when the igniter is not lit is unacceptable, because gas can explode. The igniter ignites the main heater, which heats the coolant in the boiler to the temperature set by the thermostat. When the desired parameter is reached, the automation switches off the burner. When the temperature in the device drops, the temperature sensor commands the valve to supply fuel, and the burner ignites again. Classification:

 • at the place of placement: floor and wall;
 • by functionality: one- and two-circuit;
 • by type of traction: natural and forced;
 • by type of ignition: with piezo ignition and with electronic ignition;
 • according to the completeness of the use of fuel energy: convection (traditional) and condensation.

How to choose a gas boiler for heating a private house

To purchase the best gas boiler for heating a private house, you need to consider several important criteria. The choice of a suitable device depends on the total area of the heated room, the need for heating hot water and the number of its consumers, the presence of a chimney and the pressure in the gas pipeline. Additionally, you need to consider the presence of insulation on the walls. Browse online catalogs with photos, take into account the following tips:

 • Wall or floor gas boiler. The choice of equipment for heating a private house must begin with the selection of a place for its installation. If you have space for a separate boiler room, then you can choose a floor device, otherwise limit yourself to a wall modification. The floor boiler is often made on the basis of a reliable cast-iron heat exchanger - such a model has a solid margin of safety, it is unpretentious and does not cause problems in operation. Outdoor equipment for private houses has high power. The wall analog is compact - it is ideal for heating a small object.
 • Single-circuit or double-circuit equipment. For heating a private house, equipment with a single circuit is widely used. It is distinguished by a very simple device - it has a heating pad and one heat exchanger. The double-circuit modification combines a boiler and a gas instantaneous water heater. Its device is more complex, but at the same time it is more functional and easy to install.
 • With natural ventilation or forced. In the first case, the hood passes through the chimneys in the house, in the second case, the unit has built-in fans that remove exhaust gases from the boiler and bring them outside.
 • With open or closed combustion chamber. To make the choice of a gas boiler for a private house optimal, pay attention to the type of combustion chamber. The open chamber model is often referred to as "atmospheric" because air to the burners is supplied by gravity directly from the room. The products of combustion are removed through a natural draft chimney. This option is characterized by a simple design and low noise level. A turbocharged gas boiler for heating private houses has a closed combustion chamber and fans for smoke removal and air intake. It requires electricity to operate. It has a complex structure and high noise level.
 • heat exchanger material. This element is cast iron or steel. The first option is more durable, because. not subject to corrosion, but more brittle. The new models use gray cast iron, which makes them stronger and less brittle. A steel heat exchanger is lighter, but it is prone to corrosion.
 • Pressurized or atmospheric burner. The first installation is characterized by high efficiency, good power, but is expensive. The second option is more affordable in terms of cost, but low-power. A pressurized burner must be purchased separately, and an atmospheric burner is included in the gas boiler package.
 • Convection or condensation model. Gas boilers for heating a private house are often built according to a convection scheme. The burner in this case generates thermal energy, and the heat exchanger takes the received heat, which is sent to the system - its remains go outside. The efficiency of such devices is 90-93%. For condensing units, it is slightly higher. The scheme of their work is as follows: almost all the generated heat is taken into the heating system, as a result of which condensate appears, which is sent to the drainage.
 • Piezo ignition or electric ignition of the burner. In the first case, the ignition process is manual, in the second - automatic.
 • Assess the safety of operation. Many modern gas heating boilers are equipped with sensors that control the operation of the unit at all stages - from the supply of water and gas to the removal of exhaust gases to the outside. They are able to block the heating system if the electricity suddenly cuts out or block the boiler if the temperature exceeds the established norm. For such sensors, the constant availability of electricity is important. There are floor installations, the sensors of which operate in mechanical mode, regardless of the power supply.
 • Calculate the power. For heating 10 m2 of living space in the domestic climate, about 1 kW of thermal energy is needed. In the Far Eastern and Northern regions, this figure increases to 1.2-1.5 kW, in the southern regions it ranges from 0.8 kW. Do not forget about the reserve, which is necessary in case of excessively cold winters and the presence of heat losses. It is usually 10-20%.

The heating boiler will provide housing with heat without the need to connect to central communications, which results in cost savings and the ability to adjust the level of air heating when you have your own. That is why owners of cottages often choose boilers as a means of heating. And for those who cannot connect to the central system at all, such a device becomes a real salvation. At the same time, equipment can be selected according to various parameters and defining characteristics in each specific case. So which boiler is better for a private house?

Types of heating boilers

A boiler is a device through which heating is carried out by processing a certain type of fuel. The installation can be of different sizes, shapes, power, installed in different ways, and can also be made of various materials. Of course, all these indicators affect the cost of the device - there are budget boilers that cost only a few thousand, and there are also very expensive models worth more than 100 thousand rubles. At the same time, the price range ranges from minimum to maximum among boilers of different types. What are heating boilers and on what grounds are they classified?

Table. Classification of heating boilers.

To make it easier to decide on the choice of the boiler, let's get acquainted with their main types in more detail.

Double and single circuit

Did you know that a heating boiler can not only heat the coolant in the heating circuit from pipes laid throughout the house? The installation may well provide housing with hot water without purchasing a water heater. The fact is that the unit can have two circuits - in one of them the water is heated to heat the buildings, in the other - in order to come from the taps, the shower is warm. Hence the name - double-circuit. A single-circuit boiler is used only for heating the coolant for heating buildings.

Single-circuit gas boiler - diagram

The advantage of a single-circuit boiler is that it is cheaper and easier to maintain, but the purchase and installation of an installation and a boiler separately will cost more than the purchase and installation of a double-circuit boiler. The latter takes up quite a lot of space, but, again, no more than a boiler and a single-circuit.

Unfortunately, it will not heat water in large volumes, so it makes sense to buy it if the DHW costs are low. Otherwise, it is easier to purchase a single-circuit boiler and separately -.

Fuel varies

As we noted earlier, boilers can operate on different types of fuel. And here you should choose the installation, focusing on the cost of fuel in a particular place - somewhere it is cheaper to connect to gas, and somewhere it is more profitable to use electricity or ordinary firewood. Also, in certain cases (for example, if it is impossible to connect to a gas main), a certain type of fuel will be the only solution at all.

Gas boilers are rightfully considered the most economical, as they use natural or liquefied gas - one of the cheapest fuels. At the same time, the amount of heat released during the combustion of this raw material is maximum compared to other types. relatively environmentally friendly - emissions into the atmosphere contain a minimum of air pollutants.

On a note! Gas boilers serve for a long time - for example, devices with a steel heat exchanger work for about 30 years, and with cast-iron parts - all 50.

Another advantage of such a boiler is that there is no need to make storage for fuel, because the installation is connected directly to the gas main and takes fuel from there. Yes, and a person will not have to particularly control the combustion process - everything in the boiler is automated.

But connecting) is not so easy: you first need to coordinate everything with the supervisory authorities, bring the gas pipeline to the house. And during installation, it is important to check the tightness of all connections and assemblies in order to avoid leakage. At the same time, only those whose house can be connected to the gas main can use such a boiler.

Electric boiler

Boilers powered by electricity are of three types and differ from each other in the principle of operation.

Heating elements have tubular heaters inside the structure, which provide heating of the coolant (water). Such installations are usually automated, have relatively small dimensions and are often mounted on a wall. Their main drawback is the formation of scale on the heating elements.

There is devices that work on electrodes, there are no heating elements inside them anymore. Water is heated by a conductive electrode. Such devices are inexpensive, and the dimensions are also modest. Their main disadvantages are the inability to use antifreeze as a coolant, the need for control, and the regular replacement of electrodes.

Electric boiler, may be induction, where the basis of the functioning is the so-called electromagnetic induction. In appearance, such a device resembles a conventional transformer, which is located inside a welded case. The induction coil does not come into contact with water, but during the operation of the device, its core is heated and the fluid that has received heat is transferred, which circulates around. The efficiency of the device is very high, as well as the dimensions.

Attention! Electric boilers are not suitable for use in areas where there are frequent power failures. If the power goes out frequently, either another type of installation or a generator is needed.

In general, electric boilers are environmentally friendly, cheap, work quietly, and are easy to use - they do not require much attention. There is also no need to equip the chimney. But they use a lot of electricity.

Solid fuel boiler

- This is the simplest version of equipment for heating. In fact, this is an ordinary furnace with a firebox and coolant. Fuel, which can be coal, firewood, sawdust, shavings, peat, fuel pellets, is placed in the combustion chamber, ignited by a burner and, when burned, heats the coolant and the water contained in it, i.e.

Kinds.

To install such a boiler in the house, you will have to equip the chimney without fail, and also be prepared for the fact that the installation will have to be regularly cleaned of ash and soot. Without cleaning, the device will begin to give off heat worse, and in the future it will completely fail.

Choosing a boiler for home heating

How can one choose a really suitable boiler for heating a private house among such a variety of types? In fact, the secret is simple - you need to determine exactly why the boiler is being bought, and how much money the owner of the house has.

Step 1. First of all, you should decide for what purpose the boiler is being bought - only for heating the house? Maybe it makes sense to take a double-circuit, which will also warm the water? Much depends on the number of people living in the house and the required volume of hot water. If it is consumed in too large volumes, then it would be optimal to buy a boiler and a single-circuit boiler separately. But in a house where the hot water supply will not be so intense, it is more economical and more logical to install a double-circuit.

Step 2 Now you need to decide which type of fuel is the cheapest to buy. A lot here depends on the region - somewhere cheaper firewood, somewhere it's easier to put an electric boiler. But in any case, if a gas main is connected to the house, the choice should be made in favor of a gas boiler.

Step 3 Cast iron or steel? Choose the owners of the house in accordance with the wishes and the thickness of the wallet. Of course, steel is easier to buy, but cast iron is better in terms of heat transfer. However, now boilers of the second type appear on the market less and less. Therefore, it makes sense to still choose a steel boiler, but from high-quality metal.

Step 4 The noise level should also be assessed, as well as the possibility of equipping a chimney in the house. Installation requirements vary for all types of boilers, and the installation possibilities of one type or another must be considered objectively.

Step 5 The power of the boiler, which is necessary for the full heating of a residential building, is important to calculate before the purchase. On average, for normal heating, about 1 kW per 1 m 2 is needed. But it is important to consider the height of the ceilings, the size and number of windows, doorways and other openings. It is also mandatory to take into account the need to heat water for hot water supply in the case of a double-circuit boiler.

A heating gas boiler is a device that, by means of the combustion of fuel (natural or liquefied gas), heats the coolant.

The device (design) of a gas boiler: burner, heat exchanger, thermally insulated housing, hydraulic unit, as well as safety and control devices. Such gas-fired boilers require a chimney to be connected to remove combustion products. The chimney can be either a conventional vertical or coaxial (“pipe in pipe”) for boilers with a closed combustion chamber. Many modern boilers are equipped with built-in pumps for forced circulation of water.

The principle of operation of a gas boiler- the heat carrier, passing through the heat exchanger, heats up and then circulates through the heating system, giving off the received thermal energy through radiators, underfloor heating, heated towel rails, and also providing water heating in an indirect heating boiler (if it is connected to a gas-fired boiler).

Heat exchanger - a metal container in which the coolant (water or antifreeze) is heated - can be made of steel, cast iron, copper, etc. The reliability and durability of a gas boiler depends on the quality of the heat exchanger in the first place. Cast iron heat exchangers are resistant to corrosion and have a long service life, but are sensitive to sudden temperature changes and are quite heavy. Steel containers can suffer from rust, so their internal surfaces are protected with various anti-corrosion coatings that prolong the “life” of the device. Steel heat exchangers are the most common in the manufacture of boilers. Corrosion is not terrible for copper heat exchangers, and due to the high heat transfer coefficient, low weight and dimensions, such heat exchangers are often used in wall-mounted boilers, but of the minuses, it should be noted that they are more expensive than steel ones.
In addition to the heat exchanger, an important part of gas boilers is a burner, which can be of various types: atmospheric or fan, single-stage or two-stage, with smooth modulation, double.

To control the gas boiler, automation is used with various settings and functions (for example, a weather-compensated control system), as well as devices for programming operation and remote control of the boiler.

The main technical characteristics of gas heating boilers are: power, number of heating circuits, type of fuel, type of combustion chamber, burner type, installation method, pump and expansion tank, boiler control automation.

To determine required power gas heating boiler for a private country house or apartment, a simple formula is used - 1 kW of boiler power for heating 10 m 2 of a well-insulated room with a ceiling height of up to 3 m. If heating is required for a basement, glazed winter garden, rooms with non-standard ceilings, etc. the gas boiler output must be increased. It is also necessary to increase the power (about 20-50%) when providing a gas boiler and hot water supply (especially if water heating in the pool is necessary).

The peculiarity of calculating the power of gas boilers: the nominal gas pressure at which the boiler operates at 100% of the power declared by the manufacturer, for most boilers is from 13 to 20 mbar, and the actual pressure in gas networks in Russia can be 10 mbar, and sometimes even lower . Accordingly, a gas boiler often only works at 2/3 of its capacity, and this must be taken into account when calculating. In more detail with a table for calculating the power of a heating boiler, you can

Most gas boilers can switch from natural gas to LPG(ballooned propane). Many models switch to liquefied gas at the factory (check these characteristics of the model when purchasing), or nozzles (jets) are additionally supplied to the gas boiler to switch to bottled gas.

Pros and cons of gas boilers:

Boiler piping- These are devices for the full operation of the heating and water supply system. It includes: pumps, expansion tanks, filters (if necessary), manifolds, check and safety valves, air valves, valves, etc. You will also need to purchase radiators, connecting pipes and valves, thermostats, a boiler, etc. The issue of choosing a boiler is quite serious, so it is better to entrust the selection of equipment and its complete set to professionals.

What is the best boiler? The Russian market of gas boiler equipment has its own leaders in quality and reliability. The best manufacturers and brands of gas boilers are presented in the assortment:

"Premium" or "Lux"- the most reliable and durable, easy to manage, the kit is assembled as a "constructor", more expensive than the others. These manufacturers include German companies

We will talk about the types, features of operation, but most importantly, the rating of gas boilers for heating a private house will be presented. This information is useful to all those who are currently puzzled by the choice of heating equipment. The organization of heating the house and heating water for domestic use is a must for those who live or move to a private house. Gas equipment is considered the most effective and inexpensive to use. We will talk about him today in today's article.

What type of boiler to choose

The first thing you should pay attention to before buying is the output power of the system. This parameter is calculated taking into account the climatic zone in which the equipment will operate and the area of the premises that need to be heated. The calculation is not very difficult. Since in private houses the height of the ceilings rarely exceeds 3 m, you can attach yourself to the area of the rooms. This parameter is multiplied by the coefficient for the installation region, and then divided by 10.

The correction factors have the following meanings:

 1. For the southern regions, where there are no severe winters, it is 07,-0,9.
 2. For the middle band, the coefficient is already growing significantly - 1-1,2.
 3. In moderately cold climates, calculations are guided by numbers 1,2-1,5.
 4. The most difficult thing is to warm up the house in the northern regions, where the coefficient from 1.5 can go up to 2.

A simple example. Let's take two buildings of 100 squares of the same size and energy efficiency. We carry out the calculation for the south: 100 * 0.7 / 10 = 7 kW. For the north - 100 * 2/10 = 20 kW. There is nothing complicated in such calculations, and you can choose a boiler for yourself. However, there are many nuances that even professionals cannot take into account without knowing how your house is built and how energy efficient it is. This means that if the building is poorly insulated, such calculations may be pointless.

The next point that you need to pay attention to is the way the boiler is installed. The organization of the space around and the safety of equipment operation will depend on it. There are two types here:

 1. Floor boilers- this is powerful bulky equipment that requires a separate room (boiler room) for installation and normal operation. The power of such equipment can be simply huge, it has a very high efficiency, it is possible to instantly supply hot water to the draw-off point.
 2. Wall mounted boilers- they are used to organize individual heating in apartments and small houses. They are very compact and can even be installed inside cabinets without taking up much space. The size of the equipment imposes some restrictions on it. In particular, all working parts (pump, burner, electronics and heat exchanger) are in close proximity to each other, which creates difficult operating conditions at constant elevated temperatures. Of course, the parameters of the devices are carefully calculated, but the overall service life of such systems is still much lower than that of floor systems.

Also, the small size limits such gas boilers in power, although in the southern regions they can freely heat houses up to 200-300 m².

It is also important to know what type of burner is installed in your boiler. This parameter affects not only the efficiency of the system, but not its appearance. Distinguish:

How gas boilers are arranged and work

Before proceeding with the review of different models, let's talk a little about the technical part of such equipment. Knowing the question will allow you to better navigate the functions of the boiler.

Table 1.Working parts of the boiler

Detail, photoDescription
We have already talked a little about her. Flames burst from this part. The gas is ignited by a piezoelectric element.
With the case, everything is clear - it is a metal box of the right size with a heat insulator that protects the internal parts from others, and those around from internal parts.
In fact, this is a radiator, inside which heated water circulates through the tubes. A burner burns under the heat exchanger and heats the water inside it.
This device forcibly pushes the coolant through the heating system. Everything is very clear here.
Gas combustion products must be removed from the boiler so that they do not enter the room. To do this, a separate chimney route is installed, which is led out into the street through the walls or ceiling - depending on the type of boiler.
In modern equipment, heating is completely controlled by electronics. Depending on the complexity of the heating equipment, the “brains” for it will also differ.

In general, simplified, the system works like this. The gas is supplied through the pipes to the boiler, where it goes straight to the burner, which is ignited by a piezoelectric element - previously this had to be done manually. The fuel begins to burn, releasing a lot of thermal energy, which is captured by the heat exchanger and transferred to the water inside it. So that the water does not boil and does not burst the heat pipes with pressure, it must be moved, constantly changing the heated coolant to the already cooled one - this work is performed by pumping equipment. Also, the gas boiler system is equipped with other devices so that it can be quickly controlled - pressure relief valves, gearboxes, combs, pressure gauges and much more. It all depends on the specific model.

Interesting to know! An important role in the reliability of the boiler is played by its security system, which prevents water from boiling, freezing, blocking the pump in case of failure or gas leakage. All these functions are implemented by special add-ons and sensors that cost a lot of money.

If the boiler is double-circuit, it can simultaneously heat the coolant in the heating system and water for hot water supply at home. The scheme of operation of such a boiler is more complex than the one we described above.

What are the types of gas boilers

Table 2. Types of gas boilers

Type of gas boilerDescription

Atmospheric and other burners are installed in boilers with an open combustion chamber. As we wrote earlier, they need a natural draft of air - it is taken from the room, and the combustion products are removed through the chimney. It is possible to install such a boiler only in a separate room, the volume of which will be three times the hourly gas exchange of the equipment.

The advantages of the design include its simplicity - fairly easy repair and maintenance. No noise during operation - only pumps do this. Relatively low price and a large assortment.

Disadvantages - low efficiency, the need for a chimney and a separate non-residential premises.

There is no need to isolate such a boiler from the living space, since the chamber in it does not come into contact with the surrounding air in any way. In such boilers, coaxial chimneys are used, which are simply brought out through the wall to the street. In such a chimney there are two pipes - external and internal. One of their bottom is inlet, and the other is exhaust. The length of this pipe is small, which is very convenient to use.

You can use such boilers even in apartments. Most often they are wall-mounted.

The advantages of the equipment include: safety of work, small dimensions, no need for a separate room, ease of operation and quick installation. Among the shortcomings, we note the rather high cost and high noise level.

About the contours, in principle, everything is clear, so we will not go into too much detail. We only recall that double-circuit models simultaneously work with a heating system and hot water supply. There is no way to get confused in the choice.

There is another division into classes of gas boilers. Separately, we will not write about it, but will mention it in the course of listing models in our rating.

List of the best boilers for your home

In recent years, nothing supernatural and revolutionary has appeared on the boiler market, so you can turn your attention not only to the latest innovations, but also to proven systems.

Gas boilers - the best solution if it is possible to install them

wall models

Let's start with wall-mounted gas boilers. They are of condensation and convection types. The former are the most economical and productive, since not only the thermal energy released during the combustion of gas is used to heat water, but also the energy of condensing steam. The efficiency of such devices is very close to the coveted mark of 100%. Naturally, these boilers are more expensive, so we will list the best models on the market in this class separately. In the meantime, all about convection wall-mounted boilers.

Weissman boilers have always been distinguished by quality and reliability. They are assembled on one modular platform, which greatly simplifies repair and maintenance. The list includes three versions of this model - for 34, 30 and 24 kW. Depending on the region of installation, the power of such a boiler may be enough for a house of 250 square meters.

This copper has the compact case (400*340*725) that allows to install it in any rooms. The most powerful model of these consumes at the peak of 3.5 cubic meters of gas per hour - this is considered a very good indicator of efficiency. There are quick-detachable connectors on the hydroblock, there is a heating control system, depending on the ambient temperature. Innovative coaxial chimney protected from freezing, efficiency in the region of 93%, operating mode on liquefied gas and an intelligent equipment diagnostic system. Of the minuses, one can name the absence of a remote control panel, but this is not significant. The cost of a boiler in various online stores ranges from 42,000 to 60,000 rubles.

This boiler can immediately be written to the leaders of our rating. Here is a product from a well-known German manufacturer. The average cost for this is 60,000 rubles. It also has a closed combustion chamber and a good coaxial chimney. Conveniently, the power of forced ventilation can be adjusted exactly along the length of the chimney.

The model has the highest efficiency in the class. Its walls are reliably protected from heating, which allows you to mount the boiler without indenting from the side wall. Able to work on liquefied natural gas. It heats the water in the DHW circuit very quickly - there is no need to drain it for several minutes. The system is compatible with the proprietary WRS control module, which can be mounted both on the boiler and as a remote control module. The boiler starts softly.

You can note the entire model range - the power varies from 9.4 to 24 kW. The system has 2 heat exchangers - one for each circuit. The expansion tank has a volume of 8 liters, which allows you to get a performance of 11.5 liters per minute of hot water.

We are falling into a more affordable price niche. Here the boiler from Italy Baxi feels good. This brand, in fact, is considered one of the most prestigious, but this particular model is inexpensive and performs well in practice.

It belongs to the fourth generation, which was developed specifically for Russia, and specifically, it is designed to operate at a reduced gas pressure at the inlet - 5 mbar. It is very convenient that the boiler has a separate temperature control system in the radiators and the underfloor heating system. The maximum power of the boiler is 24 kW. It has very modest dimensions - 299 * 400 * 730 mm.

Of the advantages, we note:

 • water accounting system;
 • post-circulation mode;
 • use of a pump with an air vent;
 • compatibility with solar collectors;
 • separate temperature control;
 • low pressure protection system;
 • a pleasant price in the region of 38,000 rubles;
 • remote thermostat and remote control.

The disadvantages include a small display on which information is displayed, how the cat cried.

Boiler Baxi Eco Four 1.24 F

Of the inexpensive solutions, we also note the goods from the Korean manufacturer Navien. These are boilers with a closed chamber, which are also adapted to our conditions. At a cost in the region of 28,000 rubles. they give excellent results. The boiler power can be 24 kW.

Pleased with the following features:

 • frost protection - if the temperature of the coolant drops below 10 degrees, the heating and the pump will automatically start;
 • remote control panel;
 • stable work.

The boiler has a stainless steel heat exchanger. On the one hand, a minus, but on the other, a plus - the part is very strong and durable, and the efficiency of copper heat exchangers is boosted by turbocharging. Among the shortcomings, we note a little noise and unstable heating of hot water.

Let's move on to condensing wall-mounted boilers.

Boiler Navien Deluxe 24K

The German manufacturer Valiant offers its customers the highest quality heating equipment. The thermal power of this model is 24 kW - you already know how to recalculate the area of the room. The cost of such a model is on average 55,000-60,000 rubles.

Of course, the condensing boiler will have a much lower gas consumption with high heat transfer. The model has the option of enhanced water heating for hot water supply - it produces up to 24 kW. The boiler is equipped with a DIA system for collecting and analyzing information about the operation of the boiler. The equipment can work both from a coaxial chimney and from a conventional one. Suitable for heating systems with low temperatures.

The burner has a chamber for preliminary mixing of gas and air, which increases the efficiency of the boiler. There is an automatic control of combustion and ignition, due to the control of the consumed air. The pump can automatically switch from hot water to heating. The volume of the expansion tank is 10 liters.

With such a high quality, this boiler does not have the highest price. In addition to high quality, you can also note the beautiful design. Of the shortcomings, only vulnerability to power surges can be called, so a stabilizer is required.

Boiler Vaillant ecoTec plus VUW INT IV 246

This boiler is the most economical in its class. The price for it is already in the region of 100,000 rubles, but the quality, especially the high one, is always expensive. The main feature of this model is the presence of a cylindrical type Matrix burner. It is high-tech and has many micro nozzles. This structure minimizes heat loss. A steel ring-type heat exchanger also has high efficiency.

Efficiency of the device is 98%, two ways of heating hot water, small body, remote control, operation with liquefied gas, high-quality and smart electronics, easy repair. And this is not all the advantages of the model. There is only one drawback - the high price.

Floor models

Let's move on to floor boilers now. We will also first name the leaders of the convection type, and then the condensation type.

Before you is a single-circuit heating boiler from Weissman. It is low-temperature and has an open combustion chamber, which means that it will have to be installed in a boiler room. Its power is 29 kW. They will ask you for about 110,000-120,000 rubles for this in the store. Very productive system of the small size which traditionally differs in high quality of execution.

The heat exchange parts of the boiler are made of gray cast iron and flake graphite. The burner has a fuel pre-mixing chamber. Weather-compensated automation is very energy efficient. The ignition system is implemented in such a way that the boiler starts silently and efficiently. Such a boiler can be easily combined with storage units to provide hot water at home. I don’t want to consider a high price for such reliability and coherence of all components as a disadvantage, but this is what stops many users from such an acquisition.

Yes, and yet, such a boiler, when connected to the DHW system, cannot provide long-term heating of the water in the flow mode - you quickly fill the bathroom, and its temperature drops sharply. To avoid this, you need to spend water with a small pressure.

Boiler Viessmann Vitogas 100-F GS1D870

From the budget line of boilers of this type, we single out a model from the Slovak company Proterm. It costs about 60,000 rubles. The boiler is also single-circuit and has an open combustion chamber. Useful power is at the level of 26 kW, so it is enough for a small house.

Let's name the pluses:

 • summer-winter mode;
 • smooth power adjustment;
 • informative display;
 • heat exchanger protected from condensate and the possibility of replacing its middle section;
 • small size and cooling circuit.

The remote control for such a boiler can only be purchased separately, which somewhat lubricates a good impression.

Boiler Prothrem Bear 30 KLOM

Of the condensing single-circuit boilers, we again note the model from Valiant. Power 34 kW for just some 180,000 rubles. It is very efficient and reliable, like all real German technology. DHW is realized by connecting an external storage boiler, as in previous cases. As an option, you can take a double-circuit boiler from the ECO series.

 • The efficiency of the device is around 99%;
 • modulating type burner;
 • economical gas consumption;
 • touch control panel;
 • DIA system;
 • flame and ignition control.

The disadvantage of the boiler is still the same - you need a voltage stabilizer, but at this price, these are already trifles.

Boiler Vaillant ecoVIT VKK INT 366

So, we went through the most common models in our country from different price segments. We hope you find the material useful.

Video - Which boiler to choose: floor or wall

Which gas boiler is better? I answer from my point of view. For 10 years my team has been installing heating systems. We have been servicing gas boilers in the Krasnogvardeisky district of Adygea for more than eight years.

During this time, I have accumulated statistics on the maintenance of gas boilers. I warn you that I will express my point of view and my personal opinion and judgment, it may not coincide with the opinion and point of view of some manufacturers.

The gas boilers I am considering belong to the budget segment. Boilers more expensive than 50,000 rubles, you will not find here.

Gas double-circuit wall-mounted boiler - which is better for heating a private house.

How to make heating in a private house

Any story begins with the fact that a person has a house and needs to be heated somehow. If there is network gas nearby, then everything is fine. It remains to make a heating system in the house.

There are two ways:

 • Make a heating system for a private house with your own hands
 • Hire heating installers

How to make a heating system with your own hands, I will tell you another time. Suppose that the customer has chosen the second path and agreed with us on the installation of heating. I meet educated customers, they already know where radiators will be installed, and where there will be a warm floor.

They usually ask me questions like:

 • Which pipes are better and why?
 • Why so long?
 • What's so expensive?

In this article I will tell you how to choose a gas boiler for a private house. What is the most reliable gas boiler and why do I think so.

I will not consider domestic manufacturers of gas boilers, such as Neva, Lemax, Siberia, and others. There are not many of them, they, in my opinion, have a very small market share. It's extremely rare for me, so I can't draw any conclusions.

Gas boilers the best manufacturers

European manufacturers: VIESSMANN (Vissmann), VAILLANT (Vailant), BUDERUS (Buderus). German organizations that have given the globalization of production in Turkey, Russia, China. This trio specializes in thermal equipment. They fill the niche of thermal energy sources. From gas wall and floor boilers to heat pumps. They also produce solid fuel, diesel and electric boilers.

Italian manufacturers: FONDITAL (Fondital), ARISTON (Ariston), BAXI (Baksi), FERROLI (Ferolli).

Korean manufacturers: NAVIEN (Navien), KITURAMI (Kiturami), KOREASTAR (Koreastar) and MASTER GAS SEOUL (Master Gas Seoul).

Chinese manufacturers: OASIS (Oasis) and ROSTERM (Rosterm).

The most reliable gas boiler

In my opinion, the most reliable Viessmann gas boiler. Just as car manufacturers have small, middle class and business class, so boiler manufacturers segment their boilers to capture market share as much as possible, and Viessmann has cheap and expensive models of boilers.

Viessmann has a running budget model of a double-circuit gas wall-mounted boiler VITOPEND (Vitopend), with a capacity of up to 35 kW. They are relatively inexpensive, Viessmann Vitopend 100-W can be bought for 45 thousand rubles.

The best double-circuit gas boiler - installer review

In my opinion, VIESSMANN has a balanced balance of simplicity and at the same time reliability and quality. In complex equipment, this balance is incredibly difficult to maintain. Vaillant, in my understanding, is trying to be as technologically advanced as possible. Although Wissmann sometimes slips this too. The last line of Vitopend, it seems to me, they are too clever.

German wall-mounted double-circuit gas boilers

In general, Wissmann has some simple knots, the most reliable. And Vaillant begins to fall into some kind of complex menu, the obligatory participation of a service specialist.

An ordinary user in Vaillante cannot figure it out. To change the simple settings of the boiler, you need to get into the instructions, or contact somewhere, etc. On the one hand, this has a plus, in the sense that it is protection against fools so that the user does not interfere in the operation of the boiler. On the other hand, it makes life difficult for installers.

If we consider more budget options, this is Buderus. I can't say anything bad about Buderus. In general, the boilers are reliable. Now a plant has opened in Russia, and boilers are now being produced here. Cheap parts, good build quality. According to my observations, the boilers are reliable.

Vailant, in my opinion, makes good boilers, but I don’t like their service policy, I don’t like the over-sophisticated boiler control logic. The boilers are economical, technologically advanced, but in our operation this may turn out to be a minus. They are picky about poor water quality, poor electricity quality. Those boilers that were installed 8-10 years ago (I have accumulated my own breakdown statistics) break down more often than Wiessmann. Although this is one class device. Vaillant has very expensive parts, and according to my statistics, it breaks down more often than Buderus.

I installed about the same number of boilers from Viessmann and Buderus, and Vaillant was much smaller, and 80% of Vaillant boilers had some kind of breakdown of varying degrees of complexity. But they were all noticeably expensive. Even replacing the make-up valve came out at 2-3 thousand rubles. In Buderus boilers, the make-up valve has never been changed.

So I try not to recommend Vaillant. In my opinion, the whole policy of Vailant is focused on service, and to become a service, you need to buy a set of spare parts. For Moscow or for the northwestern region, it is relevant. People there live richer, they think about the service and are ready to pay for it. Guarantee, service on this you can earn.

In the Krasnodar Territory and Adygea, this is a problem, there are few such people, the equipment itself is not very common. Load up with spare parts and try to make money on repairs by pushing additional customers. service is not our style.

Italian wall-mounted double-circuit gas boilers

The Italians are generally not bad in quality, but, in my opinion, worse than the Germans. In general, I liked Baksi, Baksi's approach, service policy. Spare parts are cheaper than those of the Germans, but also quite expensive. Boilers rarely break.

Ariston in general, good boilers, there are nodes that break down quite regularly. This is a three-way valve if there is a split heat exchanger in the boiler. If the water is hard, then the valve breaks once a year.

Fondital and Nova Florida good boilers, rather poorly distributed now. Used to be popular because of the low price. The cheapest boilers according to Italians. I haven't put them on for the last five years. Those boilers that I installed earlier work normally even under poor operating conditions.

Korean wall-mounted double-circuit gas boilers

Boilers Navien very common in our region. Very cheap segment, very well entered the market. The boilers are not bad, but there is a weak knot that spoils everything. This is the primary heat exchanger. He is weak to them. If something breaks in Navien, then 90% is the primary heat exchanger.

Now, when many years of experience in their operation have been accumulated, it is clear that customers do not like it. Negative rumors are spreading. I think that on this occasion, probably, sales of Navien also fell. And they could develop. The boiler has a different design logic, made in Korea, unpretentious, cheap spare parts, but the primary heat exchanger spoils everything.

If they got rid of the design flaw with the heat exchanger, I think they would have captured the market a lot. I would love to put them on myself. It makes no sense to buy a boiler that breaks down on hard water in a year or two. The heat exchanger for this boiler costs from 6 thousand rubles + work to replace it.

Read also:

I installed few Naviens, but served a lot. I have not seen a boiler that has worked for more than three years without a heat exchanger failure. I came across old boilers with a copper heat exchanger that worked trouble-free for 6-8 years.

Kiturami. I can't say anything bad. They are not widely distributed in our country, inexpensive spare parts.

Deo not bad boilers, there was a period when these boilers often and vilely broke down, but then the design was finalized, and in general, those boilers that I encountered and installed myself showed themselves well. Good price, in conditions of poor operation, they showed themselves normally. Better than the Naviens. No worse than the Italians.

Chinese wall-mounted double-circuit gas boilers

Chinese gas boilers break down quite often. But Chinese boiler manufacturers are gradually taking over the market and constantly improving the quality. My prediction: within 5 years they will begin to actively invade the market, because they will improve the quality, the price is low + development has begun in automation, boiler control from the phone. Sensor technology, remote access, all this will be integrated into the boilers.

Now there are such electric kettles that, in terms of functionality, they remind me a little of a spaceship. Gas technology in this sense is a bit conservative. Of course, some models of gas boilers have access via the Internet, some settings can be made from a smartphone. But all this is not the same. I think that in the near future the Chinese will make a breakthrough in gas technology.

Poor operating conditions for gas boilers

Few people know, and even more so, turn their attention to the operating conditions of gas boilers.

Boilers break down quickly due to two reasons:

 • Chemically and mechanically polluted water. Sand impurities, scale, a lot of iron, increased rigidity.
 • No grounding, power surges.

Due to the quality of the water, heat exchangers and valves fail. Remember, I talked about Ariston and Navien?

The gas boiler needs to be serviced periodically.

Double-circuit gas boiler for heating a private house

Double-circuit boilers are good for small heating systems up to 100 square meters. With one bathroom and it is desirable that it is adjacent to the kitchen. And the boiler was nearby. For apartment heating, double-circuit boilers are an excellent solution.

If 4 or more people live in the house, two bathrooms, if there is a large distance between the boiler and consumers, then the double-circuit boiler starts to work at the limit of its capabilities, which leads to its breakdown.

I would not recommend installing double-circuit gas boilers with a power of less than 20 kW for a simple reason: such a boiler capacity for heating is excessive, and for hot water supply it will not be enough.

Read also:

In order to heat the water in the duct, you need to apply a lot of power. Many customers and installers do not understand this. Therefore, I would not recommend installing household rulers below 24 kW at all. With a power of 20 kW, such a boiler serves 1 hot water point.

Calculation of the power required for hot water preparation

The cold water entering the boiler has a temperature of 12°C.

The boiler heats water and the hot water temperature will be 50°C at the outlet of the boiler. I put the number 50 degrees, you can substitute your hot water temperature. In wall-mounted double-circuit boilers, it is usually regulated from 30 to 60 degrees.

The difference between the temperature of the water entering the boiler and leaving the boiler is called Delta. In my example 50-12=38 degrees.

I don’t want to explain to you for a long time about the heat capacity of water, to give formulas that no one will understand anyway. To simplify everything as much as possible, we can say:

Important!
It takes 1 Wh to heat 1 liter of water by 1 degree Celsius.

When you turn on a hot water faucet, approximately 8 liters of water per minute flows out of it. Therefore, in one hour, 8l * 60min = 480l / min will pour out of this tap.

In my example the Delta was 38°C. 38*480=18 240 W/h or 18.2 kW/h.

This is the power needed to heat water in the duct. That is why most manufacturers make wall-mounted double-circuit gas boilers with a power of 20 kW or more.

Attention!
Such a power of a gas boiler is needed not for heating, but for preparing hot water!

Additional losses occur for heating pipes. Everything is cold in the morning, the man turned on the water until all the pipes warmed up. This needs power. To heat the boiler itself, power is needed.

Therefore, if you have 2 bathrooms, 4 people live, it is likely that two or even three people will turn on hot water at the same time. The boiler will not be able to heat the water. There will be a big delay in hot water.

A wall-mounted boiler with a power of 24 kW is 1-2 hot water draw-off points. It is very difficult to heat hot water in the duct. This is exactly what installers and customers do not know. What boiler power is needed for the preparation of domestic hot water and not for heating.

Very often I encounter situations: 4 people or more live in the house, there is a huge half-ton bath, two bathrooms, one of them on the 2nd floor. Installers installed a double-circuit gas boiler in the basement. The owner of the house complains that it takes a long time to get hot water, and the boiler often breaks down.

This is a matter of equipment selection and system design. This is very often mistaken.

I explain to people this way: if more than 4 people live in the house, the distance of consumers is more than 5-7 meters, bathrooms are on different floors, and you already have a double-circuit gas boiler installed, then you need to recirculate, install an indirect heating boiler.

Which gas boiler to choose for home heating

Now I advise the wall-mounted gas boiler Viessmann Vitopend.

There was a period when I put Wiessmann. He explained to people about quality and reliability. Then the price of Wiessmann rose, people were looking for cheaper options. At that time, I installed Baksi and Aristona and Fonditala boilers.

Then Fonditals rose in price, Wissmann fell in price. The Wissmanns went again. I usually dissuade people from Koreans, but if they insist, put a Korean, there is no money, I put it. And then I prefer to put Deo. They are better than Navien.

I put Aristons at one time, but there was a bad service policy. Perhaps she still has it. I can’t say that the Aristons are bad boilers, but the Equator customer-oriented service spoiled everything. For this reason, I stopped using Ariston.

Price is critical. The state of the market matters. People had more money, they put something more reliable, when there was less money, a crisis, people start saving hard on everything. Choose whichever is cheaper. This is the paradox of the market. A person builds a house for at least 20 years, but at the same time he does not think in terms of 20 years. The choice is based on price.

This is a choice not only of boilers, but also of radiators, pipelines, fittings. If there is a crisis, then they put frankly deshman garbage. Forgetting that the pipes in the walls will be very difficult and expensive to change. Even if the crisis is already over, and there is money.

Wall-mounted boiler - spare parts for gas boilers

What they do not pay attention to when choosing and buying a gas boiler is the cost and delivery time of spare parts.

You need to make heating at home. I don't know how you found people who will make your heating system. Maybe they were recommended to you by a relative, acquaintance or neighbor to whom they did something. Perhaps you do not know anything about them, and saw their ad in a newspaper or on the Internet. It does not matter.

You agreed with them that they will make the heating system for you, and most likely they will also purchase all the materials. It's no secret that many installers have discounts, and they earn a little on the supply of materials, and you save a little.

Now the most important thing: most likely, you will ask them the same questions that customers most often ask me:

 • Can you tell me a good gas boiler for a private house?
 • Which pipes are better and why?
 • Can you recommend good radiators?
 • How long will it take to deliver the product and install it?
 • Why so long?
 • What's so expensive?

What materials do you think installers recommend in 90% of cases?

Most installers advise those materials on which they get the most discount!

For example, some store gave an installer a 15% discount on Ferroli boilers. The heating installer will recommend this boiler to you, and possibly share a discount with you.

Italian boiler at a discount, such a joy 🙂 Winter will come, or maybe it will happen after 5 winters and the boiler will break. It's cold outside and the heating doesn't work. You call the installer or find a person who can repair your boiler urgently.

This person comes, opens the boiler and tells you: the heat exchanger is leaking, or the control board is burned out (or maybe 100500 more reasons), in short, you need to change this spare part.

He finds out, and it turns out that the heat exchanger for the Ferroli boiler will go for three weeks and it costs 29 thousand rubles. And the new Ferroli gas boiler costs 35,000 rubles.

This real situations from my practice. Imagine: it’s winter and frost outside (even cooler than the New Year holidays), the boiler is broken and now there is no money for a new boiler.

What to do in this situation? Change the boiler to a similar boiler? Or change the manufacturer of the gas boiler, but then you have to redo the project for gas. Wait for a spare part and heat the house with electricity, or what do you have there?

When I advise Viessmann, I know for sure that any spare part for this boiler can be obtained within 1-2 days. Or replace it with something, make the boiler work quickly.

Choose materials for construction wisely, learn materiel or hire responsible and competent contractors like us.
