The MGUPI diploma is the first step into the world of modern instrument engineering and computer science technologies

The University of Instrument Engineering and Informatics (MGUPI) is recognized in Russia and abroad as a university of classical university traditions coupled with modern educational technologies. A high-quality educational center with rich research practices, since its opening, has been constantly improving in accordance with the needs dictated by time, expanding and deepening the content of educational programs, improving the quality of training of engineering personnel - this is MGUPI. Reviews about this educational institution always place it at one of the highest levels of ranking of universities in the corresponding field.

Renaming

From 1936 to 1950, the university was called the Moscow Correspondence Institute of the Metalworking Industry, abbreviated as MZIMP. Further, until 1988, it was the All-Union Correspondence Engineering Institute, that is, VZMI. In 1988 it was renamed the Moscow Institute of Instrument Engineering, and in 1994 it became known as the Moscow State Academy of Instrument Engineering and Informatics (MGAPI).

Since 2005, this is instrument engineering and computer science (MGUPI), which in 2014 was merged with MSTU MIREA, and therefore the full name of the university began to sound different: Moscow State University of Information Technologies, Radio Engineering and Electronics, abbreviated as MGUITE. With any of these names, MGUPI received simply wonderful reviews about the quality of graduates; the level of training was not affected by structural changes.

About the university

MGUPI is now a leader in training specialists in knowledge-intensive industries: automation, telecommunications, cybernetics, computer and information technologies, electronics, radio engineering, biotechnology, chemistry and so on. A rather rare training system is implemented here, which not only ensures high efficiency of the knowledge gained, but also guarantees the rapid adaptation of graduates in the real conditions of modern production. This system allows you to connect the base department of the university and a specific base enterprise.

Today there are significantly more than fifty such departments at MGUPI - at the Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, at design bureaus, at the most high-tech enterprises in the country. When deep general scientific theoretical training is combined with practical activities with the help of large industry-leading innovative enterprises using advanced technologies, the training of graduates will be effective and of high quality. The university also has a developed network of scientific laboratories, research centers, and design bureaus. That is why MGUPI receives only the most positive reviews about its graduates.

Teachers

Here students study in unique conditions: they are taught by more than twenty academicians and corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and over two hundred and eighty members of other, including international, scientific societies and academies. The most famous scientific schools, which are recognized throughout the world, the achievements of MGUPI scientists have become the basis for partnership work with industrial associations, research centers and universities in Japan, China, Finland, Singapore, Korea, France, Germany and many other countries.

The structure of the university includes an institute of international education, where more than five hundred foreign students from thirty countries are simultaneously trained; exchanges of scientific and teaching personnel, mutual internships, academic student exchanges, and double degree programs have become a tradition. A strong teaching staff, modern material and technical base, active scientific activity and broad international connections - this is today's MGUPI. Moscow is proud of this university.

The level of education

The range of educational services is very wide and is suitable for absolutely any category - it is interesting for both schoolchildren and mature specialists, scientists and teachers. Pre-university training at MGUPI is very well developed. The admissions committee is working actively, in particular, career guidance work is being carried out. The university has a physics and mathematics school, which contains more than twenty branches - sponsored schools in the region, as well as preparatory courses.

Students are trained at all levels - from undergraduate to postgraduate inclusive, in accordance with the Federal Law on Education, which MGUPI adheres to. The admissions committee, located on the university campus, informs applicants in detail about the features of admission, including targeted recruitment, providing a list of customer enterprises. There you can get answers to all your questions and submit an application.

steps

Further, if admission to a university has taken place, each student will receive the first levels of higher education - a specialist or bachelor's degree. The latter is designed to develop practical professional skills coupled with fundamental training of a wide range of profiles. A specialty has a narrower profile in training and a specific one. Students study for four to five and a half years and receive either a bachelor's degree or a specialist qualification.

Bachelors can continue their studies in a master's program, and upon completion of the specialty there is also a chance to immediately enroll in graduate school. The second level of study is a two-year master's degree, after which there is the opportunity to enter the third, graduate school, where you will study for another three or four years (depending on the specialty). After defending the dissertation, the graduate student receives an academic degree. This is exactly the educational chain that is practiced at MGUPI.

Cost of education

First-year students enrolled in a full-time specialty or bachelor's degree program who did not undergo budget-funded training must pay for the training from their own funds. By the way, at MGUPI/MIREA there are quite a lot of budget places every year, but the competition for paid education does not become less - the authority of this university is too high.

Depending on the area of training, the student is required to pay an amount of ninety-eight or one hundred eighteen thousand rubles for annual training. So, for example, training in the specialty “Mechanical Engineering” or “Innovation” is the first amount, and in “Software Engineering” or “Instrument Engineering” - the second.

Where to study

MGUPI campuses have more than one address, since they are located in different parts of Moscow. There is an extensive complex of buildings on Vernadsky Avenue and an even larger one on Stromynka, also on Malaya Pirogovskaya, on Mira Avenue, on Sokolinaya Gora, on Usachev Street and in Shchipkovsky Lane. The complex on Vernadsky has twenty-three classrooms for lectures with up to two hundred and fifty seats each, sixty classrooms for group classes with up to thirty seats, four hundred and fifty-five computer classes, and one hundred and forty-seven specialized laboratories. In addition, there are also basic departments for internships for senior students. All educational building complexes are connected to the Internet, and there is a free Wi-Fi zone.

Library

A separate library building has an area of about five thousand square meters, on which there is a collection of about one and a half million copies of books on the university profile and in related disciplines, all kinds of scientific and technical publications and documents. There are six reading rooms by industry; in addition, remote access to any full-text document from anywhere is provided. Since MGUPI campuses have different addresses, class schedules are drawn up so that students do not have to travel around the city during the school day.

Where to relax

The university has an excellent sports complex, where compulsory physical education classes are held and there are conditions for independent individual or mass training seven days a week from morning to late evening. There are three halls for volleyball, tennis, basketball, mini-football, a gym and an aerobics room, as well as many outdoor sports grounds.

On the territory of the complex there is a large dining room, many buffets and cafes, kiosks, and vending machines. The canteen is open all day, with breakfast, lunch and dinner on the menu. Buffets are available in all academic buildings and dormitories. There are also medical centers for students and employees. There is a club with a concert hall, modernly equipped with all kinds of equipment, where groups gather: student theater, art, dance, sound recording and a guitar studio. All rooms are specially equipped.

Branches

MGUPI has several branches in the Moscow region and one in the south of Russia. From Fryazino, Serpukhov and the Sergiev Posad branch, it is enough to simply maintain contact with the parent university, which is instrument engineering and computer science. Stavropol is located far away, and the branch opened in this city has all the features of independence.

It is slightly larger than the Moscow region branches, has no less excellent teachers and is the pride of the Stavropol Territory. The branch not only occupies the top levels of the ranking of local universities, but also actively participates in all regional and city events. Given the high level of professional higher education that the MGUPI branch provides, reviews about it will certainly be positive.
